There are reports reaching me that Ian Levine is once more actively sending out feelers for missing Dr Who episodes residing in foreign TV archives.
Though this poses no threat to us directly, Society members should be on their guard in case his interest extends to collector's circles. I do not have to tell any of you WHY Mr Levine is not a suitable nomination for membership!

I should think we will be safe from Mr Levine's activities for the forseeable future.
Whilst he is concentrating his efforts on these TV stations, he is not likely to discover us.

Well, he's not going to find much in Africa, that's for sure. If Delancy & Holmes couldn't locate it with the help of guns and money, I don't see how the Great White Wail will do any better with a polite letter. IN CAPITALS!!!!!!, probably.
I still laugh at the story of Delancy swapping a Kalashnikov for two 16mm reels of Out Of The Unknown. Classic! May he RIP in the great vault in the sky.

Christ - that headline gave me a start!
I thought you meant that Big Ian had started cruising round Heaven and G.A.Y. again :-)

Well, of course there's plenty in Africa if they know where to look. LOL.
Oddly enough I bumped into a chap I worked with in the engineering dept when we were both wet behind the ears in the late 50s (in fact it was just as the Ampexes were being installed) and it turns out he emigrated to Jo'burg a couple of years after me. He wasn't as keen on most of the programmes as me but he still liberated a few things of interest - the usual prints but interestingly he kept a dump reel of Ampex tape containing all the stuff he had to splice out of studio recordings. He's not seen any of it since he left the corporation in the mid-70s but he reckons there's some great stuff there. The problems are that the climate here, as you know, isn't very hospitable to tape and there aren't any Quad recorders capable of playing back 405 as they didn't even get any TV till 1975 (which is, of course, why I came here in the first place). I'm talking to some chaps back in blighty to sort something out though.
I also finally found that print I thought I'd lost, embarrassingly, so for the next meeting my contribution will be a nice bit of 35mm - should be Wheel-y good. LOL.

Or to be more accurate, he can have a rummage in your garage and then come. I wonder what the Great White Wail would do if he ever found out a significant chunk of what he's been looking for all these years is located within 10 miles of his house... he'd poop himself something chronic!

Not again... we had enough of this last time around. If I have another of these bloody idiots going through my garage I swear I'm going to do something I regret.
Which reminds me John, was anything ever done about the guy who leaked the last can?

I've always been intrigued by this person. Not being a part of the UK circle, and not being a particular fan of Dr Who I missed out on a lot of what he has said and done. When did the big fall-out happen with us? I presume it was over that Hartnel story he gave back. Yes?
